If someone wanted to make a new Star Wars it would be tied down to sequel baggage in a way someone making new UC Gundam wouldn't be to GQuuuuuuX.
For me to watch new mainline star wars movies again I'd need the sequels explicitly cut out, even for the people who clearly hate GQuuuuuuX I'm not detecting the same venom that I feel for the sequels.
