But yeah, the best way to find le fixie culture, or cool people in the bike scene in general, is going to be:

* Critical Mass: very hit or miss, depends on the city. Can easily be ran by/taken over by authoritarians/grifters/activist/etc

* Bike Polo: used to be too punk in a trainhopper vibe kinda way but now it's a pretty serious "altsport". Find a weekly game or whatever in your city, you can just hang out and drink.

* Freakbikers: the people that weld tall bikes and low bikes and all sorts freakish things. They usually hang out/work at bicycle co-ops
