In MKW's grand prix online mode, you can either choose between 1 of 3 "intermissions+1 lap of a course" races, or select random instead, which always gives you a 3-lap course without intermissions. After everyone votes for a course, 1 of the 24 votes is randomly selected and the track is played. The vast majority of online players choose random because it guarantees getting 3-lap tracks, which are preferred since they're designed better and are more interesting to race on than the long, straight line highways of intermissions. Choosing random post-update now more often than not gives you races with intermissions, instead of only 3-lap courses like before, removing the only guaranteed method to get a 3-lap track online. This is even more of a baffling decision given that Knockout Tour, a separate online game mode, is already built around driving intermissions. There's effectively no way to play MKW online now without getting intermission races the vast majority of the time.
