Hitler didn't want war of any kind. He wasn't even prepared for it when Germany was attacked by Poland. If you think Hitler would have rather tried to control the entirety of Europe rather than simply do his best to make Germany the best Germany that it could be, I don't think you actually studied much history or read any of the things written by him or about him. The man wasn't ambitious at all.
