This seems like a good thread to ask this:

I have recently lost my 1TB music collection (both backups failed).
So now I am, slowly, rebuilding it.

The question is two fold:
>should I bother with .opus 224 files?
I mean, they drastically reduce the collection size, with little to no loss of quality, therefore the backups should be easier.

>where to store the backups
This isn't strictly related to music, but backups in general.

I am looking at a 8TB external drive for 170, and an internal 4TB Kingston NV2 Nvme for 220.

Point being, which would be the better backup storage, for a person who travels a lot?
I already have a external 4TB HDD for my ...other stuff, that would be moved onto the 8TB HDD,thus freeing up the 4tb one.

But then, the 4TB Nvme is much less prone to physical failure (no moving parts).
