I don't think either of them count as particularly obsessed, really. It's just a hobby to them, or a biological need.
It's likely that you can even be extremely driven and still be fine as long as you keep things in perspective and don't lose sight of the greater picture, like Atomic Samurai being determined to master the sword, but understanding that you need to hone all aspects of yourself in harmony to truly reach the top.
It's all a matter of having the wisdom to truly understand the meaning of power.
