But Ukraine was beyond saving from the start, no matter the leader. Yeltsin, Kravchuk and Shushkevich sold out their country. Gorbachev's fault for being weak and not acting on the referendum's mandate. Just imagine what a post-communist USSR could have been like... my pan-Slavism... my monarchy... my Orthodoxy... vgh.
