I hope they collapse. They churn out biohazard tier useful idiots and they no longer benefit the average person. The government doesn't care about them having massive enrollment because they'd rather outsource highly-skilled work instead educating their own populace. During the cold war our lack of highly-skilled workers was deemed a national security threat but now that we've reached a surplus nobody cares anymore. People trying to become lawyers, doctors, judges, politicians will still go to college but only because they're from rich familes. Colleges will continue to produce elite government workers simply because those families are the only ones that can afford to send their children. The government is still able to groom heirs and they can get cheap workers from overseas so they have zero reason to care about college not working for regular people. As regular people drop out costs will rise to offset lower enrollment and the elite familes will pick up the tab. Its not like the rising costs are detrimental to that stratum of society anyways giving how wealth inequality has sky rocketed.

If university as an institution failed it would be awesome because you'd no longer have disenfranchised, indoctrinated midwits returning home to take their rage out on society because they can't land a job. Honestly ask yourself this: what have the universities done for the country in the last 20 years?
