I remember about a decade ago I was buying them at comic shops from between $3 to $8 depending on the character because I was unhappy with the Y-joints and most of the figures they were producing during the Sequel trilogy. Getting old PotF2 and Prequel era toys was much more enjoyable and as you said, easy to find MoC if I wanted. I think back then the only figure I paid more over MSRP for was an Ephant man I found at a comic shop. But after Mando came out, the price on that era started to rise again for some reason and I took a break, and lately TVC has started doing better articulation and quality so I occasionally buy them again.

I preferred them even to the more detailed sculpts of the 5poa stuff they released after Last of the Jedi, because even though the sculpts weren't as accurate, most of them looked a bit more dynamic and interesting. Like this guy who I was never able to find as a kid but thought looked cool as fuck.
