unironically, they should just start their own platform. These kinds of games that have a very strong, enthusiastic core audience would be an extremely good fit for a niche platform competitor. They'll never beat steam but they don't have to.

The reason epic, ubisoft, etc failed is because they're trying to be exactly like Steam but worse in every way. This is a good opportunity to fill the gap that steam is ignoring.
