>This hand is iishanten for honitsu. We want to get yaku so we can open, and so we cut the dora. It's the same line of thought as cutting a terminal dora pair to aim for tanyao akadora 2.
TN: I assume he means tanyao akadora 2 in yonma.

>In a sticky iishanten like this, we should also discard the dora.
TN: I don't really see sticky iishanten being used a lot so I'm not sure if I should use it or not, but then "kuttsuki iishanten" isn't going to help EOPs either.
For those unfamiliar, a sticky iishanten is one where you have 4 completed shapes and some floating tiles. As soon as you draw something that connects to one of your floating tiles, you'll be tenpai. The acceptance of sticky iishanten is great, and if the floating tiles are next to sequences you can also often get a good final wait.
>If you get a bad wait on the dora indicator here, it would be hard to win. A 6p draw is much better when it gives you a sanmenchan in pinzu. That or a wide souzu wait is what you must aim for here.
>Don't be picky with yaku either. Assume we draw 8s. We then have the choice between confirmed ittsuu with a 25p wait or confirmed pinfu with ittsuu chance with a 369s wait. The value difference makes it a bit awkward, but I would definitely choose the wider 369s wait.
