"Oi, wot's this tosh 'bout bread loafs then?" Cattleya meowed.
"Something to do with coin and business." At least that's what you assumed.
"Uh, yeah, what Master said. I think he's talking about money." Mel repeated what you said.
"But we's not in the business of just killing ourselves over a few silver coins!" Biggy added.
You exploited their outrage to get some more information. They told you when Rostchilde was coming back to Centria (around three weeks time according to what was said), of rumors concerning Rostchilde partaking in an illegal slave trade he was thinly veiling as 'indentured servitude' (Cattleya listened attentively to every word with growing frustration), or of how it seemed like a more disorganized version of the Thieves' Guild was still operational in the criminal underworld of Centria.
As the conversation went on, it was clear the Drag On Gang was planning to get revenge on the Bed and Barn Inns. They weren't exactly subtle about it.
But that was completely fine with you, since just about anything that was bad for Rostchilde was good for you.
"So, are you just gonna let those guys push you around and treat you like pawns?" You gave your thoughts a voice, giving them just the right push to make them take action.
"Like hell we will!" Boss said. "Biggy, Smalls; change of plans!" And with that they all began to storm away.
"Should we stop 'em, guv?" Cattleya meowed.
"No. Let them go." You said, getting a nod from your catgirl.
With that, the Drag On Gang went out into the night. While they didn't inspire confidence, you were sure they would get into some more trouble. Hopefully bringing it to those old bastards.
"Oi, think they're gonna start shit with us again?" Cattleya asked as the three of you began to walk around again.
"It doesn't really matter if they do." You replied.
"This was actually pretty smart of you, Master." Mel said. "I mean, I can't see them trying anything against us anytime soon."
"The idea was to get them mad at the people that hired them, ultimately using it to frustrate Rostchilde's plans." You explained. "Get them to cause some chaos in his hotels."
Cattleya, as she listened to your words, gave you an appreciative smile.
"It's the sort of plan Ruby would've had, if she actually though up good plans!" Mel said in that high-pitched voice of hers. "Uh, don't tell her I said that."
Idle conversation followed, soon given direction with a certain question from Mel.
"Master, about the magic explode-y wand thing..." Mel approached the topic with caution after looking over the item again.
"Were you able to find the magical signature?" You asked with some hope.
"The opposite, I think. Sorta. Sorry Master, hahaha..." She sighed. "Though, I was able to tell why it didn't work out to begin with. It's basically had a pretty intricate enchantment on it that prevented it from being tracked. Most I could get was those Drag On guys used it in the last few weeks."
"I noticed that too." You said.
