no particular method, i start with incredibly general vague shapes and just layer on top of it until it starts to look more realistic. things further back will be more de-saturated and generalized, and things closer will be more saturated and have a higher contrast. it helps that i like... have a lot of practice drawing from observation. my real art is all traditional (mostly oil/gouache and charcoal) and realistic leaning, with a contemporary/impressionistic kind of spin. this is my latest painting (still a wip) as an example. i had ponies on the brain from all of these sketches which clearly inspired it lol. let me know if u have more questions, im not sure if this was helpful...
