Iran is to Russia what Italy was to Germany. Iran has now officially become the "soft underbelly"(as Churchill put it) of Russia and vulnerable. This could get so much fucking worse if it escalates further and draws in more countries. A NATO aligned restored Iran would be a horror show for Russia aswell as China for that matter. I wouldn't be surprised if the "Ayatollah" suddenly dies from the panic that is flooding the regime right now. He is 86 after all.

Operation Rising Lion is also double meaning:

2. The rising Lion and the Sun symbol is on Iran's original flag for millennia before the Islamist takeover banned it.

The aim is clear, to destablise Iran to such an extent that the opponents to the regime rise up. After last nights statements, todays extremely fiery statements and unconfirmed reports about Israeli forces smuggling in weapons to Iran over the last eight months using trucks and ships, it looks likely some activation event or attempt,probably backed by the IAF aswell as Mossad spec ops and probably a few Sayeret squads on the ground is now imminent.
