Dragon Ball's writing does exactly what it sets out to do and never craps on itself like other series. Even Goku, who's been bastardized by shit like Super, has a subtle, but pretty damn great character progression. He incrementally grows to be a better man, while still keeping the same heart he's had as a kid.
