I know you guys hate Arknights but it has a really good roguelike. They actually make new content (music, enemies, stages) for each iteration and they all have their own lore and mechanics. Imagine we have an MD based on the Smoke War and for the final boss you fight the smoke monster with its own music, and there's some nice lore tidbits on the side.
