Mismanagement of funds, political squabbling, unhealthy marriages of private interest and government funds, bureaucratic delays, rescource and material misallocation, corruption and embezzlement, and continuous compromising on ideals and shifting of goal posts to the point what is ultimately accomplished is worthless and foreign to the idealists who drove it forward in the first place.
