First 2 villages are best one so I understand, still you can rush the game after you settled your farms and buildings as you like in the village and just go for the VN parts and the combat parts.

It can give you a nice under 40 hours of gameplay, It's kinda clanky (Director worked in Sonic 06 so no wonder, kek) but i found it very animesoulful to play (Don't use english dub at all).
