>Seven counting those warriors (but we all know they never used their tank stance, let's be real)
>Possibly even more, since that list wasn't sorted
Wew lad.
Can't say I'm too surprised that healers were such a scarce sight back then. From what I recall of Ye Olde TERA, it took forever to bring a character up to the level cap, and the damage output of both Priest and Mystic was especially pitiful.
Experience from slaying monsters was virtually nonexistent, and even your gains from completing sidequests were pretty dang piecemeal, so you'd need to be thorough in sweeping through every zone's quest offerings before moving onto the next.
Very "mid 2000s WoW" in its approach, which was fine if you had the patience for it... But alas, by the 2010s, I was getting pretty dang tired of the oldschool themepark format. Tried to get into TERA off-and-on during its younger years - and even joined TFT for a brief span - but that slooow level climb would regularly put me off within just a couple of weeks.
The EXP curve on Starscape thankfully more relaxed (barring the final level, which is deliberately adjusted to require an utterly obscene amount of EXP, granted by completing a certain questchain after Level 69), so going the traditional route is far more manageable. Almost a little /too/ manageable, since you totally skip-over quite a few zones by following the MSQ, most notably the entirety of Pora Elinu.
Bit of a shame the most iconic region in TERA is entirely optional on that server, but it's not as if it's been removed outright, and I'll gladly take a faster level climb over spending weeks just getting to Level 40 like the old days.
Plus, all healers have a HUGE damage bonus when playing solo content as well. Have to imagine that alone would play a pretty big part in why you can find Priests and Mystics around practically every corner now.
