What do you expect when we outsourced out manufacturing to China? I am not sure what our leaders were thinking what was going to happen lol. I would understand if China was under the ROC government where they could have been a more friendly one but it was communist China....
Also consider that their entire military is based on fighting in the SCS/over Taiwan. All of their weapons are meant to COUNTER US weapons in this geographic area. And consider that they have PL-17's which is the equivalent to the AIM-260 but they had these about 10 years before we do, and they have AESA radar seekers with dual-pulsed engines (meaning they get a boost in the end phase before the missile hits to speed up and impact the target).
AND CONSIDER THAT OUR OWN STEALTH PLANS CAN NOT BE BUILT WITHOUT CHINA...
So if we take EVERYTHING 1:1 all things being equal... their planes are just like >>510826989 said, bigger, longer reach, more of them (eventually), and they'll be fighting at HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE, with more drones than we can imagine, and more missiles than we can produce in a year.
This is stupid to fight China. The US generals screaming about 2027 is not the year China will invade Taiwan, because they'll still (we dont know publicly at all) how many J-35's or J-20's they have but likely have less F-35's than us, but the 2027 date is about when China surpasses the US in military strength in the western pacific and we become the "near" peer.
I havnt even talked about their ships that are also newer, and have the same advantages and the previous things I mentioned but they have a lot of frigates for ASW. A lot of Destroyer's for AD, and a lot of "Cruisers" (Type 055) for punching power. Oh and guess what, they'll have even newer and bigger ships while still retaining what they have now. Meanwhile the US is struggling with a Frigate design.
