Honest interpretation, but I believe that "Ashley" and "LeyLey" are some kind of DID manifestation, or rather one of them is a fear/trauma response and the other is her native personality. LeyLey seems to be her perpetual desire to be a child and be pampered, played with, doted on, and be reckless without any of the consequences, and it's the thing she turns to on a regular basis. Ashley, however, seems to represent her acceptance of the unfiltered horror around her, and seeks comfort and relief for the acceptance of that horror, which tends to lead her into retreating into LeyLey more and more frequently if she isn't given something else to sate her.

I'm of the opinion that as long as she's comfortable, LeyLey will come out and be a bothersome little child, but her mindset, being as childish as it is, has an innocent worldview that probably rejects sex, as it's an "adult" thing, and thus takes away from the image of her being an eternal child, ruining the act entirely. Ashley, on the other hand, has more adult wants and needs, but does not enjoy being presented to the world. Ashley, however, is fully adult, clearly has fully adult needs and desires, and while she's bad at expressing herself, it's clear one of those needs and desires is clearly sexual. In the Shots and Such ending, Ashley very specifically is shown to have had an extremely enthusiastic sex session at one point while drunk, but in general, that ending has them basically in the clear for real consequences, and while Andrew still has sexual needs, LeyLey would then be better represented because their concerns were resolved by having a stable living condition again, and thus she would hate sex unless heavily intoxicated enough for Ashley (the real) to slip out and LeyLey(the ideal) is temporarily buried.
