I think I posted this in the last thread. But if Xal heads to Northrend to try and reach the Jailer, and we get stuck in Northern Eastern Kingdoms because void nonsense, then it can make sense.
Void nonsense causes us to be unable to cross the ocean to Northrend, and that is our main goal in Midnight.
The void did attack the Shadowlands, so "what is to come" could be the void, and his plan.
