Yes, demographics is by far the biggest issue. In terms of destruction and death toll, first half of previous century was far worse. WW1, civil war, red terror, famines, WW2. And yet the population still recovered and has grown. Because women remained and fertility rate was decent. Post-soviet period was already bad even without war. 8 million were lost to natural decrease and a couple of million to migration even prior to the war. And it's all because of government policies and the culture festered by kike oligarchs in power. But now it's a nail in the coffin. And the war hasn't even ended yet, who knows how worse can it get...

Not as bad as Ukraine though. Not a single year of positive natural change since 1990. 8 million lost. Plus all the emigration. And that's before war. It's a total demographic catastrophe now. Not even because of deaths, but millions of young fertile women running away together with children.
