Sometimes I wonder if I had seen Jesus when he was being tormented, what would I have thought? Would I have thought he was courageous or some kind of delusional mess that the State had every right to dispose of? I probably would have thought that he was weak. I despise that about myself. This doesn't have to be about Jesus or even religion. It's so hard to defy conventions and expectations even though sometimes it seems like that is exactly what we were meant to do all along. The only time people seem to notice you is when you are about to lose everything and in that moment the only thing they have to say is that you're doing it wrong.
