>How did you stop?
1. Ask yourself why you drink in the first place and answer yourself honestly. For me it was because of boredom and loneliness. If you can uncover the root cause, try to target it.
2. Stop going to the liquor store once your last drop of liquor is gone. Sounds too simple, but it's an answer. Being around booze encourages drinking. Get yourself into the mindset of "oh I don't feel like driving just for a drink it's too inconvenient I don't want to go outside for that".
3. Keep your hands occupied with something else. Pick up a hobby for the sake of it. Don't have any foliage in your house. Gratz you're a plant guy now. You can even grow fungi if you have zero good sunlight areas. For me, I make bread. Hobbies are easy and make you seem like more full of an individual. Most of them result in things that you can gift to people you love.
4. Seek support from family and friends if available.
