Lets look at historical context for a minute. Humanity loves a good story and our stories convey a lot about human nature so lets look at one of the great historical tragedies and how it relates to my theory.

The Trojan War, as recounted in Greek mythology and Homer’s Iliad, was a decade-long conflict between the Greeks and the city of Troy, sparked by a romantic dispute. Helen, the beautiful wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta, was abducted (or eloped) with Paris, a prince of Troy. This act was seen as a grave insult and a violation of honor, prompting Menelaus and his brother Agamemnon to rally Greek forces to retrieve her. The war, fueled by this contest over Helen—described as the most desirable woman—can be viewed as a "sexual war," where male competition for a prized mate escalated into a massive conflict. The Greeks besieged Troy, driven by pride, honor, and the desire to reclaim Helen, while the Trojans defended their city and Paris’s claim to her. The war ended with the Greeks’ ruse of the Trojan Horse, leading to Troy’s destruction. While the war involved complex motives—power, glory, and politics—the catalyst was a rivalry over a woman, reflecting themes of sexual competition and male honor in ancient narratives.
