it's true for all games, not just winning specifically but easier games result in less playtime because our brains are being challenged
as much as we hate to complain about bad teammates, if they aren't there the games are most likely just boringly easy
a lot of ranked players aren't actually getting gapped in most games, hell i can count on 2 hands out of hundreds of games when i got gapped in jungle
and i am not just talking about some handless freak getting kills on my turbo inting teammates, i am talking about the ones that get in my head and read my thoughts to the point where i can't play the game
if it wasn't for my teammates making the game stupidly hard i would probably get bored and quit
there was a time when this was true cause i was improving too fast and i swapped to adc to feel any sort of challenge on a new role with new champions and matchups to learn
in an age where soulsborne games are getting more popular + more and more difficult/challenging or straight up too competitive games are on the market, our brains aren't satisfied with anything that isn't a struggle
we naturally hate it as this is an exploitation of the human brain(literal live human experiments are being conducted on us every day and it's somehow not illegal LOL), but at the end of the day the small chemicals in your brain will decide what you can and can't get addicted to
