i never understood why countries use anything destroyer and larger for coastal patrol boats...that bitch displaces 7,000 tons, takes over 100 to operate and prob cost a quarter billion. you could have same mission capabilities minus helicopters (coast guards job anyways cuz muh cutters) for 30 million with picrel that displaces 400 tons and takes 2 dozen sailors to operate. while i may be biased as i served on a cyclone, they are still hands down better ships for interdiction purposes, especially for a tiny island like the UK that has helicopter bases every fucking where
