I don't know...Back in EW days, duels used to be way more balanced, the best classes were like, MNK and RPR. RDM was GOOD but not the best so you could get wins if you played well and your netcode was good, but in current patch PVP, GNB is straight up unbeatable to the point where you shouldn't even bother, but right under that RDM is just so bombastically above curve in every single aspect of a duel that it doesn't really lose to anything else...A friend of mine I dueled with a lot in the EW days fought me on VPR and used the FL action Bloodbath for more lifesteal, I didn't use my FL action but I still won in the end. How much of that was skill and how much of it was just RDM being too strong in a 1v1?
It puts me in a weird position because I actually learned to duel as RDM before I learned to CC so I love dueling but now my favorite class really only loses to itself, so I don't even know how to answer your question...I definitely struggle against more tanky classes like PLD though, I fought a PLD from here in a duel and the fight went on for several "rounds" with my LB charging all the way up like 3 times, so maybe that.
