Daido moriyama is one standout guy and just because his cameras were cheap doesn't mean the gear didn't play a role. He was very particular about how shitty his cameras had to be to maintain visual consistency. And this girl is really not a standout, a lot of people get recognition just for doing it with better gear because that does have value, and yet, she has recognition.

You just hate the idea of buying something and being better for it. It's a very anti-right-wing phenomenon and flies in the face of truisms typical of right wing activites. You can't buy your way into being good with racing cars, shooting guns, carving bears with chainsaws, playing sports, etc, so how can it be possible with photos? Well, you see, it just is. Sorry. You just don't like photography. Try letting go of the right-wing ideology where people who buy nice stuff because they want it and they think it will make their life better are "reddit numale liberals" and you might enjoy it more.
