Yeah, you summarized it pretty well, but there are even more things in regards to the direction. For instance, the way the Crychic scenes were directed evoke such an extreme feeling of idealism that I absolutely adore. The scenes with Uika and Sakiko in like, Maigo 8, or the latter half of Mujica 12, are framed in such a pintoresque/idyllic way that adds a lot to those moments.
Overall, you could dislike Mujica, or Maigo, or both of them. You could also dislike the things Kakimoto said after the anime ended, but I think it's undeniable that both Maigo and Mujica are masterclasses in regards to direction, storyboarding, scene composition, etc.
