It honestly has a huge impact on gameplay. It's definitely a lot less frustrating going through the games. The controls feel way more precise and less lose. For instance, Gex will no longer spin in a circle when changing directions. He will immediately snap to whatever direction your pointing towards. On top of that, he ALWAYS starts running at max speed when the analog stick is fully pressed, and will use his walking speed when pressed half way. This one change alone is massive, as it makes tail bouncing and tail kicking way more consistent. And, since you start running right away, you don't have to wait for Gex to reach his max speed to tail kick. You can tail kick the instant you start moving, making tail kicking from narrow platforms much much easier.
The problem is the rest of the package. The audio is completely fucked, there's no upscaling, the save system has been removed and has been replaced with save states, there's some very rare hitches/freezes every now and then, and there's only ONE single CRT filter to choose from and it looks like shit.
On top of that, this is literally just roms packaged in a shitty emulator with a zero effort front end. You can literally inject whatever PS1 game you want into it and it will work.
If there was a way to have full 360 analog controls for these games on Duckstation, it would be a perfect world. Sadly, it is not.
