He crash-landed on Earth from another planet. That’s literally the first page of his story. The whole "immigrant assimilating into a new world while preserving his heritage" metaphor has been baked in since 1938.

And guess what?

But yeah, keep screaming about Gunn "injecting identity politics" into a character who's been one big immigrant/Jewish allegory since before your grandma was born.
Meanwhile Snyder literally leaned into that with Jesus poses and operatic exile themes, and you lapped it up like gospel because it was slow-mo and grayscale.

Imagine worshipping Zack Snyder like a messiah and then throwing a tantrum over the same themes he emphasized, just because now it's bright and has color grading.
