Years ago there was a time where VHS was the shitty ass format and DVD/CD was the premium format where VHS could be gotten for cheap. I remember thrift stores trying to sell them for a quarter when Blueray was starting to become a thing. But VHS is a shit format that deserved to die out for how shitty the quality was and how easy it became for the tapes to die out. It was always cheaper to rip DVD/CDs that rip VHS too, since DVD/CDs could be used with a computer and normal software. VHS required either a device made specifically for VHS cloning or a capture card to a PC. This is good overall as there is a demand for CD/DVDs still, I can go to the local CD shop and buy shit right now if I wanted to. You can't buy anything on VHS anymore, even thrift stores destroyed everything VHS as E-waste. This isn't much of a problem as most thing carried over to get DVD/CD versions, even the shittest horror film that bombed now has a cheap ass DVD rerelease. It does suck for anything that wasn't carried over or censored for the modern era. If you want to rip a VHS today you need a VHS player where you are going to be paying 200+ dollars for one, unless you buy a cum crusted one from Ebay with roaches in them. The modern ones were made by Funai Electric, this is mostly since VHS has a fuckload of snuff films made purely for the VHS during the 70s with there still being an active market for them. Funai is also known to be shit quality and to die quickly, which is why they can be found cheaply used. Along with a capture card setup for recording what is on the tape and software to fix the declining tape's quality.

I feel this is a blight that would annoy Soda.
