He once correctly assumed that Yor was in love with him, but because she's Yor she ended up kicking him unconscious when he tried to get her in bed which made him think she rejected him.
So now he has maintained a respectful distance from her and him being unable to read her has made him sloppy at his job.

So yes and no. Them being in love with each other isn't the real hurdle though. It's the lies they're living.
