The dots spread wonderfully. I think I should have made them a little bit thicker cuz I don't think I had enough paste but just spread wise, it pretty much covered everything.

so really the method doesn't matter as much as long as you just have enough. it comes down to how thick the paste is. a low viscosity paste isn't going to spread as well as a high viscosity paste. the Corsair paste is just too thick. you really have to spread it yourself while the thermal grizzly paste spreads extremely easily because it's just not as thick.
