Someone said something along these lines in an earlier thread, but I like to think King is a monstrously strong psychic user that just happens to be completely unaware of this fact. He comes off as a person who put up a mental shield to protect them from harm at some point - which many people do - but due to his latent psychic ability, this manifests as a powerful aura that causes everyone around him to fear and revere him in spite of him doing shit like freezing up and outright saying he's weak as fuck. Nobody sees him sweating; his heartbeat alone can fold lesser men. The Ultimate Hellfire Wave Motion Burst Cannon is the only time he ever tries to use his "powers" offensively, and Golden Sperm almost shits himself.

Naturally, Saitama is the only person who can see through this, given his ability to no-sell everything. It's likely Garou will next, should he train King, given his similarly blinding power level and ability to see through shit like this.
