So, this ones weird... I have a Nile monitor. She (I think) is round-about 19-20 years old.

5.5 to 6 ft long, in apparently good condition; hasn't seen a vet, but eats, shits, sleeps, same as she ever did.

I got her as a hatchling small enough to curl up in my palm in early 2006, which by my reckoning puts her at 19, maybe older.
I've looked around at literature and such, but I've never found record of a Nile monitor in captivity or the wild living to such an old age, and I think maybe there's no record of one doing so.

Anyone able to disprove that statement?
I'm wondering if I shouldn't contact someone eventually... She's really quite mellow at this point, the opposite of the average Nile monitor, and always has been rather relaxed - she's never even tried to bite out of aggression - but her food response is and has always been PEAK SPASTIC INTENSITY, her eyesight isn't great, and she 'strongly prefers' not to be touched.
