The Japanese market isn't what it was even a decade ago. Anything that isn't indie-tier can no longer survive without international sales. If they get cut off from the west, they'll just double down on (and get bought out by) China. It happened to Key, it's probably happening to Aquaplus right now, and Compile Heart is hanging by a thread with only one card left to play.
