I've dabbled in both series throughout my life, I wouldn't call myself a fan of either, I think Naruto part 1 was just okay, part 2 sucks and Boruto part 1 starts awful and gets a little more interesting at the end. I will say the most interesting (mildly) stuff I've read in the whole series was the beginning of Boruto part 2 though I haven't paid attention lately, that's about the highest praise I can give.
