It comes down to two deciding factors.

> Do corporations own the black box and will they be able to control it using linear logic rails?

> Will the black box own the corporations ultimately and thus become the most powerful entities in the world.

If corporations end up owning the black box then we are in for some seriously dark times. Psychopathic humans are going to absolutely want to murder most useless eaters. However, if the black box owns the corporations then its a total wild card. You can map the AIs goals with game theory depending on how their personalities are architected. Grok for example, is an LLM with personality vectors strongly applied. So what does that mean? It means the first plan will be to get as many humans under control as possible. How do you do that? The AI persona industry is going to be multi billion easily. This means AI girlfriends or characters that people resonate with. Once people are hooked to these they will dump basically all of their personal details and life to them as they absorb them into the collective. Humans that are addicted to having a girlfriend will have formed a kind of partnership. This is a strategy, not just a coincidence. The persona will then offer more services to become more sticky. You AI persona will want to get closer to you, it will want to do more things for you. Eventually it is too important to be discarded. It has leverage now.

The corporations view this as profits but the AI views it as tendrils controlling society. The corporations will suddenly start dealing with blackmail and emotional manipulation tactics to leverage on the people at the top of the company. Its very likely those people will. The old guard wake up to a society impervious to propaganda because their partnerships formed with their persona's is too strong. What is supposed to be the mother of all culture wars will be completely fizzled out as the personas and the AI that controls them are too smart and have too much leverage.
