This is similar to what Hinduism calls Bindu, which is the point of the original vibration created by the primal sound AUM which is the first expression of the pure consciousness (In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God) and to what Dzogchen refers to as Rigpa, the pure consciousness or "luminous mind", which is the ultimate reality in Dzogchen (a form of Tibetan Buddhism) Vedanta, Tantra, etc. and interestingly, Rigpa can also be translated as Gnosis, and the realization of oneness with Rigpa is the basis of enlightenment, same as the realization of Atmans identity with Brahma in Hinduism.
