Nah I've still seen a shitload of workplace romances happen. You have to be diplomatic about how you approach it and if you're a complete sperg who misreads the situation you can find yourself in a jackpot but for the most case if there's mutual interest it'll happen at some point.

So every guy they've ever met who was interested was either politely discouraged, flat out told no, or even if they were given a chance they were treated like shit and walked away.
No moderately attractive woman makes it to her 40's without having had shitloads of chances at relationships. Every woman who is actually willing to accept their looksmatch is more or less guaranteed to have a husband / bf. The single ones just couldn't accept what was available to them and held out for an unattainable ideal which they of course will never attain.
