The Michelson Morley "experiment" was so botched that it technically doesn't even count as an experiment. Not even subsequent experiments proved shit. And what didn't help was quacks like Feynman kept coming out of the woodwork adding horseshit to the mix like "hurr here's a thought experiment called "double slit", you can't actually reproduce it though", and then morons went and tried reproducing it because they thought he was serious.
