You quickly figure out the source of the noise. An ancient desktop is resting on a desk by the northern wall. Seems like it turned on by itself - Guess it wants you to look at it, huh? You wander over to it to get a better look at it.

It's about as old as the researcher you met - This has to be a Macintosh from the 1980s. Its case is stained dark yellow from years of neglect and dust cakes every inch of the poor thing. It takes a solid six minutes after pushing the power button for it to turn on.

There seems to be a text file left for you. You quickly skim it.

"This is your training file. Read it carefully."

"RESEARCH anomalies produce some useful byproduct that could be transformed into a product."
"ESOTERIC anomalies are anomalies that have no immediately obvious use. These ones are super weird - Be careful."
"You may also receive sponsorships from foreign parties or other researchers like yourself. Accepting these sponsorships may help you acquire the CASH."
"You will be given $2000 upfront to buy new equipment and to 'motivate' other staff to work with you. Good luck."

…Huh.

You check the room to see if there's anything else and that's when you find it. A fancy airlock straight out of a sci-fi book. You missed it at first from just how much grime was coating it but there it is. A small placard hanging next to the airlock reads "IN LIMBO. RISK LEVEL UNKNOWN."
A keycard scanner is installed next to it. You dig through your pockets to find that you were, thankfully, given one.

"VINCENT CRUZ - LEVEL 0 RESEARCHER". That's all that's on the cheap plastic card. It doesn't even have your face on it.

Guess that's your anomaly. You should probably take a moment to think about how to proceed from here. They probably left the dossier around here somewhere, you'll just have to look for it first.

Due to there being no other staff but you and the horrid state of your 'lab', you have eight TIME TOKENS to use.
Each action requires a certain amount of TIME TOKENS. When you're out of them, the day ends.
