You, as the sole non-fox that was related to the Mitsubishi and Yasuda families, remained. Ayane told you that tomorrow, the day of the actual funeral, would be where guests of different backgrounds would be more available to speak with. Although there was a window of opportunity to get introduced here, you felt like it would've been disrespectful to just start talking when everyone was so quiet.
Another small moment of silence was shared, but it didn't stretch long as you heard a small airship land right outside the building. This seemed to signal a group of kitsune into action, as they gently lifted up the casket— picture frame and food contents and everything else— and loaded it onto the flying vessel. That seemed to be the start of wrapping things up here, as all the family members left began to stand up after the fact.
There was some somber mingling here and there, mostly consisting of people giving their condolences to Ai and Eisho. All the kits were pretty well behaved, though Shizuku was asleep and Ryko seemed bored out of her mind. The latter kitsune kit's face lit up a little when seeing you and Ayane, and she took to enthusiastically greeting you both with a wag of her tail.
"Mr. John Doe," Said she with as much energy as she was allowed to have in such a ceremony, "Auntie Ayane."
"Nice seeing you too." You said.
"Hello there, little one. It hasn't been long, has it?" Ayane said with a smile.
"You look funny." Ryko said to you. "But the good type of funny."
Ayane looked at you with worry, but you couldn't help but smile at her innocence.
"I'm trying my best to be respectful." You said to her. "Do I look bad?"
"Not really." She said with a tilt of her head. "It doesn't look bad. I suppose I just didn't think you'd wear it." That was a sentiment that many seemed to share.
While wearing a yukata here garnered you some approval, there were also those that saw you with strange looks.
