Transgenderism was not a political movement here. Politics implies what Ryszard Legutzko calls 'coercion to freedom' where, in the name of guaranteeing equal treatment for minorities, the government is granted power to infiltrate all niches of society with politics. Since there was no politics in brazilian transgenderism, it was ruled by the free market.
Thus, being transgender used to be a massive gamble since the entire burden of being respected and acknowledged was (and still is) on the transgender person. Being succesfully transgender in Brazil meant that you could outprofit even women in prostitution and related average entry level jobs for first-worlder women, such as playing videogames on Twitch and doing pretend-incest porn.

Our Constitution does not give us freedom, but give us the right for fun. Our true national sport is having sex, we worship the bunda. The faustian bargain of western civilization is that you sacrificed God (tradition, religion, standards) in exchange of wealth.
