Original Winchesters were never loaded in 45LC.
The 1873 and 1892 were in .44WCF, generically called .44-40.
Colt, seeing how popular it was and hearing about demand for a pistol that could take .44-40, released the Colt Frontier in 1878; it an SAA chambered in it. But Winchester didn't do the reverse on the real Wild West/Frontier years.
