A rumble was heard, and from the ground a spirit emerged. Three things about it stood out to you: The ghost is a woman, she had seven fluffy tails, and was gifted with massive honkers. She was flanked by Will-O-Wisps that were noticeably less defined.

"Foolish humans... I have placed a curse that allows for no sound to pass through, and for none to be able to communicate! As you have trespassed and transgressed against this sacred burial chamber, this will become your own grave!"

A strange weight felt like it's crushing your soul.

"Curse Dispel!" Herta shouts.

And just like that, it's gone.

"What?!?!" The kitsune spirit shouts. "This shouldn't be possible!"

"Better get used to that, sister." Yumi says from your pocket.

"Who are you, to speak to me?" The fox ghost acknowledges the your ghost girl with a sneer. "A countrywoman you may be, but a mere slave-wife of a human Savant is not worth my breath."

"You think I'm his wife too, huh?" Yumi said sardonically. "John, tell me what happens after this is all over." The ghost in your pocket goes back to sleep.

And so a battle begins. This ghost fox lady surprises you all by being able to warp the place and change its colors. Dark became light, light became dark, the runes and paintings began to shimmer and glow, wind bells began to chime. And the chrysanthemums turned red.

Well that answered that.

"Master! The flowers!" Herta said, almost in triumph. "We did it!"

"We sure did. But now there's more important things to focus on." You said.

The powerful ghost used a type of illusion magic you hadn't seen before with great liberty. But it became easy enough to understand after a while.

It takes a bit to get used to the floor feeling like it was shaking, and seeing colors splash on the walls, but you were able to manage thanks to your practice with Mel.

You and your beguiler were also able to help your other wives with breaking the illusions.

The powers of this ghost were flashy and had an air of strength... but every one of you all fought against ghosts often enough to not be intimidated.

The room's strange effects began to be dispersed by the magic of your beguiler.

"Oooh, I get it now," Mel said while dispelling the illusion, "Ghost magic was used to make a small compact illusions, and then spread it out. That's actually pretty clever."

"You DARE resist!?!? Even as you sully these halls!" The ghostly woman gave a shout, and the room began to change color again. Though it was easily dispelled by Mel's counter-spells.
