It always was from a pure fun perspective. The graphics are honestly fine, the real problems with the game are under the hood. Trash netcode even with modding support, and a shitty engine that can't handle 3D pathing among other things. Very poor modern windows support (without modding fixes), unless they actually released a better version recently. It will never get a professional remaster or worthwhile sequel due to modern politics, not because of GLA, but because of China. Arabs love it.
Zero Hour had a lot of cut content, again a lot of it brought back with mods. It could definitely use some better balancing if you want to take its multiplayer more seriously beyond fun FFA or team games. Generally GLA is too good, China is too garbage, airforce is OP.
